Explore Lake Denton with 365 SCUBA: A Freshwater Gem for Diving and Adventure
Lake Denton is a natural freshwater lake located in Avon Park, Florida, in the heart of Highlands County. Covering approximately 66 acres, this spring-fed lake is known for its crystal-clear water, calm conditions, and welcoming environment for both new and experienced divers.
Formed thousands of years ago, Lake Denton sits atop the ancient Floridan Aquifer, one of the largest and purest sources of groundwater in the world. Freshwater springs feed the lake continuously, keeping the water clean, clear, and stablethroughout the year — creating the excellent visibility (often 30–40 feet) that divers love.
At 365 SCUBA, we’re proud to offer diving trips, scuba certifications, and refresher courses at Lake Denton.
The lake’s depth gradually slopes from shallow training areas to a maximum depth of around 50 to 60 feet, with a sandy bottom and minimal current — making it the perfect environment for:
Open Water certification courses

Today, Lake Denton is one of Florida’s top freshwater dive sites — and with 365 SCUBA, you can experience it safely, confidently, and with expert guidance.
